Do I need any prior experiences to attend Taekwondo classes?

You do not need any prior experiences. We do offer beginner friendly training.

What will students be wearing during classes?

Students must wear proper uniform and their belts for each classes. They can either wear dobok (white uniform) with dark undershirt, or our school Tshirt (doboks/Tshirts/pants are available for purchase in our studio) with Black/White dobok pants. However, during belt test, full doboks are required.

Will I get hurt by going to Taekwondo?

Like any sports, injuries are inevitable in Taekwondo. However, we put safety first and make sure to warm up and cool down during each lesson. Although Taekwondo could be challenging, our Master Instructor does have a limit of what you can do with your rank to prevent injuries. Some soreness after classes are expected and in fact, it is your body's natural way to recover and that will make you stronger and you will experience less pain during further trainings.

How often is belt test?

Belt test is offered approximately once per three months. Although offered, not all students will be qualified. Our Master Instructor will determine students' readiness for the belt test by assessing their skills and consistency with attending classes.


Am I too old for Taekwondo?

Absolutely not! You can start Taekwondo at any age. The most important is consistency and commitment. We do offer an adult class and we are willing to work with you at your own pace, with any fitness levels. In fact, we have several adults that started Taekwondo in their 40s and 50s and did end up with black belts.

What is the minimum age requirement ?

We accept students as young as 4 years old. However, they must show maturity and ability to follow instructions.

How long does it take to get a black belt?

This question depends on several factors. This also depends on how often do they attend classes, improvement, and how hard they train. For a dedicated student, it will take at least 3 years to become a black belt.

What should I bring for my first class?

- Comfortable workout clothes. You can also purchase our uniform before class and wear it on the first day

- Water bottle

- A willingness to learn

If I have a previous surgery or a medical condition, will be I able to take classes?

Our classes are able to accomodate individuals with different physical conditions and in fact could improve quality of life for people with past medical conditions. However, we recommend you consult with your primary physician before registering for classes.

With students of various belt levels in the class, how are you able to accommodate that?

For the beginning of the class, everyone perform the same warm-up, kicking drills, and self-defense drills. We also provide modifications for lower belts during the kicking drills to match with their levels. For the second half of the classes, we divide groups of different belt levels and they would review the materials according to their belt level to perform their belt test.

Will my child become more violent by taking Taekwondo?

Absolutely not! We do emphasize to the students that use the least force when necessary and also teach them self-control. They also need to be humble, courteous, and respectful, and no bullying is tolerated during classes.

Can I stay during and watch my child during classes?

Absolutely! Children may feel more assured with their parents' presence. However, we advise you not to intervene by walking into the mat during their training time or instruct them what to do because that could disrupt the class and intefere with the lesson. Therefore, we advise you just to sit back and watch, we can take care of the rest.


How does Taekwondo help my child with ADD/ ADHD?

ADD/ ADHD children will be benefited a lot by attending our classes. Taekwondo movements require focus and attentive to details, thus enable these students to enhance their concentration. Plus, breathing and stretching exercises can alleviate anxiety as well.
